A slip and fall inside a Wal-Mart bathroom two years ago has resulted in a lawsuit seeking up to $200,000 in damages.
Port Arthur local Tammy Jones filed suit against Wal-Mart Stores Texas on Aug. 4 in Jefferson County District Court.
According to her lawsuit, on Sept. 15, 2013, Jones was a customer at the Twin City Wal-Mart when she slipped and fell in a “substance that was on the restroom floor.”
Jones contends Wal-Mart owed her and the rest of the pubic a duty to safeguard against dangerous conditions on the premises or to warn of their existence.
She accuses the mega-retailer of negligently failing to eliminate the risk.
Jones is suing for her past and future medical expenses, lost earnings, impairment, pain, mental anguish and disfigurement.

Judge Kent Walston, 58th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
