BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County mother is suing another motorist claiming that he injured her children when he allegedly ran a red light and caused their two vehicles to crash.
Aracely Maldonado, on behalf of minors Anthony Maldonado, Jackie Maldonado and Kevin Maldonado, filed a lawsuit Dec. 15 against Gregory Guillory in the Jefferson County District Court, alleging negligence.
According to the complaint, on Dec. 3 Aracely Maldonado was driving east on Blanchette Street and was struck by a vehicle driven by Guillory. The suit states Guillory ran a red light while traveling north on Fourth Street. She alleges the crash caused her children to suffer injuries to their backs, necks and bodies, in general.
The Maldonado family, who are seeking monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million, as well medical expenses incurred in the past and in the future, is represented by Cody Rees of the Rees Law Firm in Beaumont.
