Law money 08

BEAUMONT - A Harris County resident who sued after sustaining injuries while unloading tank trucks filled with chemical product has settled his lawsuit.

Eric Anderson, individually and as next friend of Jackson Anderson, a minor, filed a lawsuit against Service Transport Co., Sasol North America Inc., Nederland Tank Wash Inc. and Janice Staggs on Dec. 23, 2013 in the District Court of Jefferson County.

The case was set to go to trial May 16 but settled beforehand, according to a courthouse official.

According to the complaint, on Dec. 11, 2012, Eric Anderson was seriously injured while working at Vopak Galena Park Facility when unloading tank trucks filled with chemical product. The complaint states the injury occurred when a washout cap blew off the top of a tank truck and struck Eric in the face.

Service Transport owned the truck, which was driven by Staggs and previously filled with chemical product at Sasol North America, according to the complaint.

Eric Anderson was seeking an undisclosed amount in damages, including for his son, Jackson, after suffering loss of consortium.

They are represented in the case by attorneys Scott C. Krist and Alex W. Horton of The Krist Law Firm PC in League City.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd Judicial District, is assigned to the case.
