HOUSTON – Only days after Amber Mostyn, the wife of mega-attorney Steve Mostyn, was quoted as saying politicians spend an “inordinate” amount of time fundraising, she donated $400,000 to the Hillary Victory Fund.
As previously reported, on Sept. 24 Amber participated on a campaign finance panel, telling the moderator that she believes politicians “spend an absolutely inordinate amount of time on fundraising.”
On Sept. 30, six days after her remark, Amber made a $400,000 contribution to the Hillary Victory Fund, according to a report filed with the Federal Election Commission.
Earlier this year, on Jan. 8, her husband made a $1 million donation to Priorities USA Action, a super PAC now in support of Hillary Clinton.
Amber and Steve Mostyn are also founding members of Ready PAC, previously dubbed “Ready for Hillary Super PAC” when initially formed back in 2013.
The Houston attorneys rank 63rd in funding to outside spending groups in 2016 so far, with $2.2M in donations to liberals, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
Their firm, Mostyn Law, ranks 109th with $1 million in donations.
The power couple made their fortune suing insurers in the wake of Hurricanes Ike and Rita.
Mostyn Law continues to sign up clients in mass after every major storm in the Lone Star State.
The Hillary Victory Fund is a joint fundraising committee for Hillary for America, the Democratic National Committee and 33 state Democratic committees.
