Popeyes Chicken patron alleges food caused illness

HOUSTON – A consumer has filed suit against a restaurant after allegedly becoming sick after consuming the food purchased there.

Robin Anderson filed a complaint on Dec. 22, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Popeyes Chicken alleging that the restaurant operator violated the Deceptive Trade Practices - Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 23, 2015, the plaintiff purchased chicken strips, beans and rice at defendant's store. As a result of ingesting the allegedly unwholesome food, the plaintiff allegedly became ill.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages within the jurisdictional limits of the court, prejudgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and any other relief to which plaintiff is entitled. The lawsuit was filed pro se.
