GALVESTON – The Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas has taken over a Brazoria County woman’s lawsuit arising from an incident last year at Dow Chemical Co. facility in Freeport.

Kathy Krebs sued U.S. Security Associates, Inc. in Brazoria County District Court last month in response to a Ground Retractable Automobile Barrier gate striking her vehicle from below on June 10, 2017.

Krebs, a contractor, blames the event in question on an employee of the defendant who was operating the gate.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Current Galveston federal court records show that the defendant submitted a notice of removal.

Eric T. Furey of the law firm Gilbert & Furey in Lake Jackson is representing the complainant.
