Slip02

BEAUMONT – A Beaumont business is alleged to have failed to warn of a puddle of water that caused a woman to fall.

Shabana Nagori filed a complaint on May 2 in the Jefferson County District Court against Retail Investors of Texas LTD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 4, 2016, she was on the business premises of the defendant when she fell due to a puddle of water on the floor around the area of the floral department.

The plaintiff alleges there were no signs to warn her of the dangerous hazard, which resulted in physical injuries and necessary medical care and expenses.

The plaintiff holds Retail Investors of Texas LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise ordinary care to reduce or eliminate the risk or warn invitees regarding the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks judgment for damages, together with all legal interest, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of suit, and for other relief to which may be justly entitled. She is represented by Jonathan C. Juhan of J.J. Bragg in Beaumont.
