Houston Dollar General customer alleges debris from ceiling fell on her, injured head

HOUSTON – A woman alleges she was injured at a Houston Dollar General when debris fell on her.

Valerie Woods filed a complaint on May 25 in the Harris County District Court against DolGenCorp of Texas Inc., doing business as Dollar General, alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that On May 26, 2016, she was a customer at defendant's Dollar General Store at 11550 S. Wilcrest St. in Houston waiting in line at a check-out counter when debris from the ceiling fell and struck her in the head, neck and shoulder.

The plaintiff holds DolGenCorp of Texas Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the premises for any dangerous condition and failed to provide sufficient warning of any danger.

The plaintiff seeks award for actual damages, prejudgment and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other and further relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Michael R. Wadler of Harberg Huvard Jacobs Wadler LLP in Houston.
