HOUSTON – An employee of a construction company alleges he was injured while working because his employer failed to provide equipment in a safe condition.

Daniel Q. Gutierrez filed a complaint on June 22 in the Harris County District Court against Chandler Contracting Co. Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 23, he was injured while in the course and scope of his employment with defendant while working on a remodeling project in Houston. He alleges he was injured when his foot was pinned between two sliding ladders.

The plaintiff holds Chandler Contracting Co. Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to administer an employee safety training program and failed to provide equipment in a reasonably safe condition.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Thomas A. Laucius of Laucius & Associates in Houston.
