GALVESTON – A Santa Fe nonprofit alleges that it was not paid for the placement of a service dog.

Dorchuck's Assistance Dogs Inc., doing business as Pawsitive Approach Dog Training, filed a complaint on July 31 in the Galveston County District Court against Angela Mancini and Sara Morgan alleging breach of contract, conversion and other counts.

According to the complaint, the parties entered into an agreement for the plaintiff to provide a service dog at Hitchcock Primary for $23,140.

The plaintiff holds Mancini and Morgan responsible because the Mancini allegedly failed to pay the agreed upon amount and both defendants wrongfully acquired and exercised dominion over two service dogs and refused to return them.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief greater than $100,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to which plaintiff is entitled. It is represented by J. Mark Smith and Ghazal Vahora of Smith Reed & Armstrong PLLC in Pearland.
