Representing the estate of Carl Burns, Myra Burns filed the suit on Aug. 3 in Jefferson County District Court.
The defendants named in the suit include Texaco, Abel Supply, Ameripol, AMF, Atlantic Richfield, B&B Engineering, Foster Wheeler, Goodrich, Guard-Line, Michelin, Minnesota Mining, Synpol and Total Petrochemical.
According to the lawsuit, Carl Burns was exposed to asbestos during his employment with Atlantic Richfield and Total in Port Arthur and by Ameripol in Port Neches.
The plaintiffs are alleging gross negligence and malice, entitling them to exemplary damages.
