HOUSTON – A Harris County woman alleges she was injured while shopping at a Cypress business because a cable on the floor caused her to fall.

Paula Coburn filed a complaint on Aug. 8 in the Harris County District Court against CBOCS Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 25, she was shopping at defendant's property in Cypress and was injured when she tripped and fell over a stretched cable on the floor. She alleges she suffered serious injuries resulting in medical expenses, pain, suffering, mental anguish and lost wages as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds CBOCS Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to inspect the premises and failed to maintain it.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of $100,000 or less and all other relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by John Arthur Daspit and Michael Grinsfelder of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
