BEAUMONT – A Walmart shopper alleges that she was injured when merchandise fell on her.

Sherylonda Williams filed a complaint on July 31 in the Jefferson County District Court against Walmart Stores Texas LLC alleging premises liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Dec. 14, 2016, she was shopping at defendant's Walmart store in Port Arthur and was injured when an employee of the defendant knocked items off of a shelf while stocking and the items struck her. She alleges she sustained injuries to her head, neck and back.

The plaintiff holds Walmart Stores Texas LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to properly train its employees on the proper stocking of merchandise.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to recover all damages, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and such other and further relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Malachi Daws and Judson Daws of The Daws Law Firm in Beaumont.
