HOUSTON – A lawsuit has been filed in response to a 2016 plane crash near New Orleans, according to recent Harris County District Court records.
Local resident Briana Davis initiated legal action against Gulfport Aviation Partners, LLC and others on Aug. 27 in the Harris County 11th District Court.
Davis says she and her boyfriend, Reginald Hilliard, were passengers aboard an aircraft operated and maintained by the defendants on Aug. 27, 2016. The plane was used for a sight-seeing tour which the plaintiff paid for.
Court documents state that the tour was about to conclude when the plane crashed into Lake Pontchartrain, killing Hilliard and the pilot. Davis, however, emerged from the wreckage and was rescued by a passing boat, the suit states.
Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages.
She is represented by Ryan H. Zehl and Eric J. Allen of the law firm Zehl & Associates, PC in Houston.
