BEAUMONT – A Beaumont woman’s lawsuit against Farm Bureau asserts that “constant and unrelenting” sexual harassment prompted her to resign from the insurance company, recent Beaumont federal court records show.
Charlotte Davis initiated legal action on Aug. 31. The plaintiff explains that she was six months into her employment with the defendant when she was subjected to harassment from “various male co-workers, managers, and company officials.”
Among those who purportedly harassed Davis was her manager, Cody Woodall. Davis alleges Farm Bureau’s Vice President of Sales, Chris Whitney, told her to “play along” if she wanted to earn a manager’s position.
Court papers further state that the plaintiff was subjected to “unwanted and unwelcome” touching on numerous occasions. Davis reported the conduct in question to no avail, the original petition says.
She tendered her resignation in October 2017.
Consequently, Davis seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.
Thomas P. Roebuck, Jr. of the law firm Roebuck Thomas Roebuck & Adams in Beaumont is representing the complainant.
