HOUSTON – A pedestrian is seeking more than $200,000 from the city of Houston after allegedly tripping on a metal bar sticking up from the ground.

Dwight Edmonson filed a complaint on Oct. 18 in the Harris County District Court against the city of Houston alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 13, he tripped and fell over a metal bar sticking up from the ground along the sidewalk at Ella Boulevard and the 610 Loop in Houston. He alleges he was injured in the fall.

The plaintiff holds the city of Houston responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning about the unreasonably dangerous condition of the sidewalk.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by Jeffrey N. Todd of The Todd Law Group PLLC in Houston.
