HOUSTON – Joshua A. Estes of The Estes Law Firm, P.C. in Richmond has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a woman who claims she was injured during a towing job last year.

In court papers filed on Oct. 29 in the Harris County 189th District Court, Stephanie Estok explains that flooding at the Exxon facility in Baytown on Jan. 20, 2017 required her to seek the services of 6469 Services LLC, doing business as Eric’s Towing.

According to the plaintiff, an employee of the business lifted her truck with her inside and “ultimately” dropped the vehicle to the ground.

Eric’s Towing is accused of the following:

  • Failing to utilize the proper equipment;
  • Failing to properly secure the load;
  • Failing to operate in a safe and prudent manner; and
  • Failing to ensure that the plaintiff was in a safe location during the tow.
Proprietor Eric Mark Ruiz is listed as a co-defendant in the litigation.

Consequently, Estok seeks unspecified monetary damages.
