Moody Flooring Services allegedly refuses to release lien despite having been paid

GALVESTON – A contractor alleges a subcontractor refuses to release a lien even though it was paid in full.

Jade Construction Group Inc. filed a complaint on Nov. 6 in the Galveston County District Court against Moody Flooring Services LLC alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff and the defendant entered into a contract for flooring services as part of the construction of a Texas City hotel. The suit states Moody filed a mechanic's and materialmen's affidavit of lien in June. The plaintiff alleges the lien was discovered in October and that the defendant has refused to release the lien even though it has been paid in full.

The plaintiff requests seeks monetary relief of $100,000 or less and such other and further relief as plaintiff may be justly entitled. It is represented by Barry S. Rabon of Coats Rose PC in Houston.
