HOUSTON – A shopper at a Houston store alleges the state of the floor caused her to trip and fall.

Ruby Lovelace filed a complaint on Nov. 12 in the Harris County District Court against RTG Furniture of Texas LP and RTG Furniture Corp. of Texas, doing business as Rooms To Go, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 12, 2016, she was shopping at defendants' Room to Go in Katy Freeway in Houston when she tripped and fell because of a dangerous and defective condition. She alleges she sustained serious and painful injuries that resulted in lost wages, medical expenses, pain and suffering and mental anguish.

The plaintiff holds RTG Furniture of Texas LP and RTG Furniture Corp. of Texas responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly inspect the premises to discover the dangerous condition and failed to maintain even and consistent flooring.

The plaintiff seeks actual damages with interest, costs and such other and further relief to which she is justly entitled. She is represented by Jeremy K. Lee and David R. Feldman of Feldman Lee PLLC in Houston.
