BEAUMONT – A Nederland man is seeking more than $200,000 from a company and its driver over a tractor-trailer collision in Jefferson County.

Phillip Pryor filed a complaint on Nov. 14 in the Jefferson County District Court against Dupre Logistics LLC and James Wiggins alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 2, 2017, he was injured when the automobile he was operating was struck from the rear by Wiggins, who was driving a Dupre Logistics tractor-trailer, on West Cardinal Drive in Jefferson County. He alleges he sustained injuries and was caused to suffer medical related expenses, pain, mental anguish, disfigurement and loss of earnings.

The plaintiff holds Dupre Logistics LLC and Wiggins responsible because defendant Wiggins allegedly failed to operate the tractor-trailer in a safe manner, failed to keep a proper lookout and negligently operated his vehicle while he was distracted.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Paul F. Ferguson Jr. and Timothy F. Ferguson of The Ferguson Law Firm LLP in Beaumont.
