Woman seeks more than $200,000 from Metro National after light fixture allegedly fell on her

HOUSTON – A woman is suing the owner of the building where she works after a light fixture allegedly fell from the ceiling and struck her.

Rosalyn Martin filed a complaint on Dec. 5 in the Harris County District Court against Metro National Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 30, she was injured at her workplace when the light fixture above her desk suddenly fell and struck her. She alleges she sustained injuries that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish and physical impairment and disfigurement. 

The suit states the defendant was the owner of the building where the plaintiff worked and responsible for its maintenance and repair. She alleges the defendant failed to exercise reasonable care.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other and further relief to which she may be justly entitled. She is represented by Mark A. Carrigan of Carrigan Law Group PC in Houston.
