Passengers sue following collision with ice delivery truck

Personal Injury
Car accident 38

HOUSTON – Two Texas residents have filed a state district lawsuit in response to a two-vehicle accident in northeast Houston last year.

In their suit filed against Lisa Kay, doing business as Ronnie’s Ice Co., on Dec. 20 in the Harris County 133rd District Court, Jana Thomas and Brandon Square claim that an employee of the defendant caused the Nov. 20, 2017 collision between them.

According to the plaintiffs, the employee operated a business-owned ice delivery truck “at an excessive, unsafe rate of speed” near the 19600 block of Kingwood Drive.

“Following too closely behind” the vehicle carrying the complainants, the suit says, the worker “violently impacted” the former.

Court filings further accuse the driver of fleeing the scene and failing to render any aid.

Consequently, the plaintiffs seek unspecified monetary damages.

They are represented by the law firm Doyle LLP in Houston.
