HOUSTON – A Deer Park woman alleges her age and gender were factors in her termination from a credit union.

A’Letha Peacock filed a complaint on Dec. 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Shell Federal Credit Union alleging race and age discrimination and retaliation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she filed a discrimination complaint against a supervisor on May 16, 2017, and she was terminated at the age of 49 on May 25, 2017. She alleges she was replaced by a younger, male employee.

The plaintiff holds Shell Federal Credit Union responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated her over her complaints of discrimination and because of her gender and age.

The plaintiff seeks actual and compensatory damages, liquidated damages, reinstatement or front pay, costs, attorneys' fees and such other relief, legal or equitable. She is represented by Paul R. Harris and Margaret A. Harris of Butler & Harris in Houston.
