HOUSTON – A Harris County woman’s state district lawsuit accuses a medical company specializing in pulmonary disease management of wrongful termination.

Amanda Rodriguez sued Vitalus on Dec. 31, 2018 in the Harris County 165th District Court, countering her former employer’s assertions it fired her for failing to conduct inventory.

Rodriguez, whom Vitalus reportedly employed as an executive project manager for two months last year, alleges that her firing was in retaliation to her refusal of her superior Kautilya Cody Patel’s request to go out on a romantic dinner.

According to the plaintiff, Patel made inappropriate remarks and advances towards her prior to dinner request. Patel is listed in court papers as a co-defendant.

Consequently, Rodriguez seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Don T. Nguyen of the law firm Nguyen & Kan in Houston is representing the plaintiff.
