HOUSTON – A local man states in a state district lawsuit that a slip and fall almost two years ago at a west Houston 24 Hour Fitness caused him to suffer a knee injury.

Anthony Akale’s suit, which was filed against the California-based fitness center chain on Jan. 8 in the Harris County 270th District Court, claims that Akale suddenly slipped on a recently mopped portion of the facility’s floor following his workout in the early morning hours of Jan. 11, 2017.

There were purportedly no signs posted to warn the plaintiff, according to the suit.

Court papers list Kellermeyer Bergensons Services, LLC as a co-defendant since it provides the 24 Hour Fitness located at 10707 Westheimer Rd. with janitorial services.

Consequently, Akale seeks $500,000 in damages.

He is represented by Omotayo “O.J.” Lawal of the Law Firm of O.J. Lawal & Associates in Houston.
