HOUSTON – A local woman has brought a personal injury lawsuit against the supermarket where she worked, claiming that it defied her physician’s restrictions.

Recent Harris County District Court records show that Rosa Jimenez filed the suit against El Ahorro Supermarket in the Harris County 281st District Court on Feb. 6.

Jimenez explains that she was returning to work in the kitchen at the defendant’s business on Dec. 27, 2018 after time off to tend to her anemic condition when she was ordered to lift heavy objects. According to the suit, Jimenez’s doctor prohibited her from performing heavy lifting and the supermarket was aware of the restriction.

“As a result of such orders, the plaintiff was injured,” the original petition says.

Consequently, Jimenez seeks unspecified monetary damages and jury trial.

She is represented by Janet Campos of the Bergquist Law Firm in Houston.
