GALVESTON – The proprietress of a Texas City night club at the center of a Galveston County man’s personal injury lawsuit has formally challenged the allegations against her and her incorporated company.

Recent Galveston County District Court records show that Sarah Marie Skaggs and Skaggs Enterprises, Inc. on Feb. 8 entered a short original answer to the suit brought by Victor Holland last month.

As previously reported in The Southeast Texas Record, Holland pursued legal action after he was allegedly assaulted at the defendants’ establishment, Shenanigans Night Club, almost two years ago.

Holland’s 8-page suit claims that Skaggs and a bouncer did not lend the plaintiff any assistance when an unidentified patron attacked and severely beat him.

The defendants’ response denies responsibility for the alleged events of Feb. 18, 2017.

They are represented by Mark W. Stevens of Galveston.
