Worker seeks more than $1 million from Trinidad Drilling over brain injury

Lawsuits

HOUSTON – A worker who sustained a traumatic brain injury when he was hit on the head by a tank's hatch at a site in Odessa alleges the site's operators failed to supervise activities at the site.

David Kobe Jackson filed a complaint on Feb. 5 in the Harris County District Court against Trinidad Drilling Limited Partnership and Trinidad Drilling LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 20, he was working for his employer, TDI Oilfield, at a site operated by the defendants near Odessa when he was hit in the head by the hatch of a tank. He alleges he sustained severe and permanent injuries, including a traumatic brain injury.

The plaintiff holds Trinidad Drilling Limited Partnership and Trinidad Drilling LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to supervise the activities on the job site, failed to enforce an adequate safety program and failed to inspect equipment before it was used at the job site.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other and further relief to which he may be justly entitled. He is represented by Robert C. Hillard, Catherine D. Tobin, John B. Martinez and T. Christopher Pinedo of Hilliard Martinez Gonzales LLP in Corpus Christi and Juan Reyna of J. Reyna Law Firm PC in Corpus Christi.
