AUSTIN, TEXAS, March 20, 2019 – McGinnis Lochridge is pleased to welcome Sophia Makris as an Associate in Austin. She joins the firm’s Corporate & Tax Practice Group where she will represent clients in connection with mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities, banking matters and other commercial transactions, according to a press release.
Makris was previously an associate with Alston & Bird LLP’s Dallas office.

Makris received her J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. She currently serves as a Board Member on the Texas Aggie Bar Association and as Permanent Class President for The University of Texas School of Law Class of 2017.
During law school, Makris was named to The Order of Barristers; was a member of the Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Team; Associate Editor for The Review of Litigation; and President of the Student Bar Association. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University.
