GALVESTON — A Galveston County woman is suing a Texas City donought shop, alleging she was caused to slip and fall while carrying her child due to a dangerous condition.

Sarah Diane Kehrer, individually and as next friend of minor K.K., filed a complaint April 9 in Galveston County District Court against Shipley Do-Nuts and Heng Inc., alleging negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, Kehrer was shopping at Shipley Do-Nuts, 2319 Palmer Highway, Texas City on April 25, 2017. The suit says as Kehrer was holding her young daughter in her arms she fell due to a slippery surface that was on the floor of the store with no signs posted, creating a dangerous situation.

The suit alleges Kehrer and her daughter suffered serious injuries, requiring immediate medical attention.

Kehrer seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, trial by jury, attorney fees, court costs and all other just and equitable relief. She is represented by attorneys Paul A. Higdon and Se Ho Yi of Higdon Lawyers in Houston.
