GALVESTON — A father is suing owners of a Taco Bell store in Dickinson, alleging his son was injured when a bell became detached from a wall and struck him in the eye.

Austin Pauley, as next friend of A.P., a minor ,filed a complaint April 8 in Galveston County District Court against B&G Food Enterprises of Texas LLC, alleging gross negligence and liability.

According to the complaint, A.P. was a customer at the defendant's Taco Bell, FM 517, Dickinson on Oct. 11, 2018. The suit says the minor was reaching up to ring the bell near the store's exit when it came off the wall, hit the minor and left him with permanent scar near his eye.

Austin Pauley seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, actual, special and consequential damages, interest and court costs, plus all other equitable relief. He is represented by attorney Jeffrey N. Todd of The Todd Law Group PLLC in Houston.
