Elevator rider alleges Tejas Elevator negligent in allowing uneven floor

HOUSTON — A Harris County woman is suing an elevator company, alleging she was caused to trip and fall due to the defendant's negligence.

Phyllis E. Erikson filed a complaint Aug. 13 in Harris County District Court against Tejas Elevator Company—Houston Inc., and Dig WB & W LLC, alleging liability and negligence.

According to the complaint, on Aug. 23, 2017, at the defendant's premises, 1250 Wood Brank Park Drive, Houston, Erikson tripped and fell foreward when exiting an elevator due to an uneven floor. The suit alleges Erikson sustained serious injuries, physical pain, impairment and medical expenses.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly inspect and repair the elevator.

Erikson seeks damages between $100,000 and $200,000, interest, court costs and all just relief. She is represented by attorney Thomas A. Laucius of Laucius & Associates in Houston.
