Divorce case participant alleges Welscher Martinez failed to represent him properly

HOUSTON — A Montgomery County man is suing a Houston law firm, alleging failure to properly represent him in a divorce.

David Stephen Carnahan filed a complaint Aug. 14 in Harris County District Court against Craig Welscher, individually and The Welscher Martinez Law Firm, formerly known as The Welscher Law Firm PC, alleging breach of contract and negligence.

According to the complaint, Carnahan hired Welscher Martinez to provide advice as well as to draft a premarital agreement. The defendants allegedly did its work poorly and failed to safeguard their client's rights, The defendants' negligence allegedly resulted in the plaintiff suffering during the divorce litigation and losing his economic standing.

Carnahan seeks more than $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all just relief. He is represented by attorneys Brett Wagner and Ryan Smith of Doherty Wagner in Houston.
