HOUSTON — A Louisiana pipeline worker is suing Phillips 66, alleging he was injured when launched into the air from an airboat.

Donald Boudreaux of Thibodeaux, Louisiana, a complaint Aug. 19 in Harris County District Court against Phillips 66 Company, alleging gross negligence.

According to the complaint, Boudreaux was employed by RAMCO and working on Phillips 66's pipeline on Feb. 22.  The suit alleges an airboat was transporting Thibodeaux to a jobsite on a Louisiana canal when the vessel struck an obstruction in the water, launching the plaintiff into the air. Boudreaux says he was thrown back against the boat's cage and sustained life-altering injuries that led to physical impairment

The plaintiff alleges Phillips 66 failed to provide a reasonably safe place to work and failed to provide safe egress to the jobsite.

Boudreaux seeks more than $100,000 in damages, interest, court costs and all just relief. He is represented by attorneys Marcus R. Spagnoletti and Eric J. Rhine of Spagnoletti Law Firm in Houston.
