GALVESTON — A Galveston County man is suing a Texas contractor, alleging he was caused to slip and fall due to the negligence of the defendant's employee.

Calvin Brewer Jr. filed a complaint Aug. 31 in Galveston County District Court against ABM Industries Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Brewer was at Stewart Elementary School, 7013 Stewart Street, Hitchcock on Aug. 9, 2018. The suit says an ABM employee used chemicals that caused the floor to become wet. The plaintiff, who said he was not warned that the floor had been left unreasonably dangerous, slipped and fell.

The plaintiff alleges the fall caused pain, mental anguish, medical expenses and loss of earning capacity.

Brewer seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, attorney fees, court costs, interest and all just relief. He is represented by attorney G. Jerrell Wise of Daniel Startk PC in Bryan.
