Wow Foods employee claims manager threatened to fire her for not buying booze

BEAUMONT – Wow Foods Concepts is being sued by an employee claiming that she was threatened with termination if she did not buy offsite alcohol for a manager.

Seeking up to $1 million in damages, Rebecca Pryor filed her suit on Sept. 10 in Jefferson County District Court.

According to the petition, Pryor began working for Wow Foods in Beaumont in July 2017. From August 2017 to August 2018, she underwent abuse, ranging from being threatening with termination of her employment if she did not buy offsite alcohol for a manager, to physical attacks by other serves and sexual assault by a staff member.

Pryor is accusing Wow Foods of gross negligence and is suing for actual, consequential and exemplary damages.

She is represented by Jacob Wheeler, attorney for the Kountze law firm of Horka & Wheeler.

Judge Baylor Wortham, 136th District Court, has been assigned to the case.
