GALVESTON — Two customers allege the owner of Home at Last Building Corporation disappeared with $50,000 that was supposed to be used for remodeling a Galveston beach home.

According to the Oct. 23 Galveston County District Court filing, Kitten Strahan and Leopold Sister Properties LLC accuse Paul Reuda and Home At Last Building Corporation of fraud and breach of contract.

The plaintiffs, the suit states, hired Reuda on April 22 for a home remodeling project at 18001 San Luis Pass Road, Galveston, for an agreed-upon price of $150,000. The plaintiffs allege Reuda "absconded" with the $50,000 down payment.

The suit alleges "Rueda simply gutted the interior of the property and did no further work."

Strahan and Leopold Sisters seek judgment of $50,000, exemplary damages, interest, litigation costs and all other just relief.  They are represented by attorneys Kyle Dickson and Phillip Nolen of Murray/Lobb PLLC in Houston
