HOUSTON — A Harris County man working aboard a Hard's Marine tow boat alleges he suffered an eye injury from flying debris.

Jonathan Eshliman filed a complaint Dec. 16 in Harris County District Court against Hard's Marine Service Ltd., alleging negligence.

According to the suit, on July 28 Eshliman was working aboard Hard's Marine's tow boat when pieces of debris flew off a wire wheel he was using to prepare the vessel for sealing and painting. The complaint states the debris flew into his eye and  Eshliman suffered "permanent and irreversible damage to his vision" as well several eye surgeries.

The plaintiff states Hard's Marine did not provide him with safety goggles, which could have prevented his injury.

Eshliman seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, trial by jury, interest, costs of court and all other just relief. He is represented by attorneys Anthony Buzbee and Christopher Leavitt of The Buzbee Law Firm in Houston.
