HOUSTON – A man alleges his 1957 Ford Thunderbird was illegally sold to another person while in the care of an auto repair shop in Cypress.

Donald Hodges filed a complaint Dec. 16 in the Harris County District Court against Mark Embrey, doing business as J's Auto Repair; James Pierce and Brad Leigh alleging fraud and conspiracy to commit fraud, deceptive trade practices and conversion.

According to his complaint, Hodges brought his 1957 Ford Thunderbird to J's Auto Repair in Cypress in the summer of 2017. Hodges alleges that in November of 2017, he discovered his car was no longer at the J's Auto Repair. After conducting a title search, Hodges alleges he found his Thunderbird was transferred through a bonded title to Pierce with a forged bill of sale for $20,500. Hodges alleges he never authorized the transfer of his vehicle.

Hodges seeks monetary relief of no less than $60,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Derek Loetzerich of The Law Office of Derek Loetzerich in Houston.
