HOUSTON — A man who worked for Laboratory Corporation of American for more than 30 years claims he was fired due to his age.

Kapadia Nalin filed a complaint Sept. 25 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Laboratory Corporation of America alleging violation of the Age Discrimination In Employment Act of 1967.

According to his complaint, Nalin, who was 64 years old at the time of his court filing, worked for the defendant from 1988 to 2019 as a medical laboratory technologist. Nalin alleges that he began to notice that Laboratory Corporation employees between the ages of 40 to 60 years were being dismissed. He also claims that he was fired on Aug. 9, 2019 after he had accessed his wife's test results from Laboratory Corporation. He alleges he had accessed the results on previous occasions without being reprimanded or warned.

Nalin seeks monetary relief of at least $516,000, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Stephen Menn of The Law Office of Stephen E. Menn in Houston.
