HOUSTON – A Houston woman claims Synerprise Consulting Services unlawfully attempted to collect her personal debt.
Sandra Listebarger filed a complaint Jan. 15 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Synerprise Consulting Services alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Services Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act and the Texas Debt Collection Act.
According to the complaint, Listebarger had a $1,157.50 debt from services she received on Feb. 25, 2019, at Community Pathology Associates. She alleges that her debt was referred for collection on Nov. 19, 2019, and that she began to receive calls from Synerprise immediately after on her cell phone. Listebarger claims she received at least a dozen unauthorized calls despite explaining she could not pay the debt at the time and requesting the calls to stop.
Listebarger seeks monetary relief of $500 for each violation and up to $1,500 in treble damages for each violation, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Mohammed Badwan and Joseph Davidson of Sulaiman Law Group LTD in Lombard, Illinois.
