HOUSTON — A New Hampshire man who bought a 1963 collectors car from a Houston business claims the car's engine was disguised to look like the engine represented prior to the sale.

John Lamb filed a complaint Jan. 22 in the Harris County District Court against Auto Collectors Garage Inc., alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) and fraud.

Lamb, a New Hampshire resident, purchased a 1963 Ford Galaxie XL500 convertible from Auto Collectors in Houston on Sept. 12, 2018. He claims within two weeks after the delivery of the vehicle, he discovered an "oil pressure failure"  and that the car's engine was a G-Code 406 CID engine "dressed and badged" to look like an R-Code 427 CID engine which Auto Collectors had represented the car had at the time of the sale.

Lamb seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other appropriate relief. He is represented by Efrain Gonzalez, Jr., of EGJ LAW PLLC in Houston.
