Estate of insurance adjuster who suffered fatal fall during inspection claims negligence

HOUSTON — The wife and estate of an adjuster who died after falling through the roof of a business he was inspecting for United Fire and Indemnity is claiming negligence. 

Stacye King, individually and as representative of the Estate of Carl King and Tyler King filed a complaint Jan. 22 in the Harris County District Court against Harry Krause doing business as Paint & Body and United Fire and Casualty Co., also known as United Fire and Indemnity Company alleging negligence and premises liability. 

Carl King had worked as a licensed public adjuster for property and casualty claims for 35 years. On Nov. 13, 2019 he was doing an inspection for his employer United Fire and Indemnity at Krause Paint and Body Shop in Bryan. King fell through the roof and suffered a fatal fall during his inspection. The plaintiff, claims the negligence of the defendants caused her husband's death. 

King seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Brent Coon, Robert Schwartz and Sidney Robert of Brent Coon & Associates in Houston.
