Minor whose jaw was broken over argument during basketball game sues assailant

RICHMOND — A minor who suffered a broken jaw after a disagreement during a basketball game is suing his alleged assailant. 

Mia Roy, as next of friend of a minor filed a complaint Jan. 8 in the Fort Bend County District Court against Christopher Sails alleging assault. 

The minor plaintiff was at an LA Fitness on Oct. 26, 2019 playing a basketball game. The plaintiffs allege there was a disagreement regarding a call during the game and that the minor plaintiff and his friend walked away. The plaintiffs claim that the minor plaintiff was then sucker-punched and suffered a broken jaw. 

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief between $100,000 and $200,000, interest, trial by jury and all other appropriate relief. They are represented by Ralph Manginello of The Manginello Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
