HOUSTON — The wife of a land rig worker who died after a blowout on the site is claiming Chesapeake Energy, Halliburton and others' negligence.

Madison Hendrix, individually and as the personal representative of the Estate of Brad Hendrix, filed a complaint Feb. 4 in the Harris County District Court against Chesapeake Energy Corporation, CC Forbes LLC, Forbes Energy Services LLC, Eagle Pressure Control LLC, Halliburton Company and WildHorse Resource Development alleging negligence.

Brad Hendrix was working on a land rig, at the Wendland, Daniel H 1H site drilling site owned and operated by the defendants on Jan. 29. The plaintiff alleges that a blowout at the site caused her husband to suffer catastrophic injuries. Hendrix was life-flighted to a trauma center where he died a few days later. The plaintiff claims the defendants' failure to properly maintain and inspect its worksite caused her husband's death.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Jason Itkin, Cory Itkin and Ryan MacLeod of Arnold & Itkin LLP in Houston.
