HOUSTON — A man who claims his home suffered water damage due to an improperly installed roof is suing the roofing contractor.

George Ballas Jr., filed a complaint Feb. 21 in the Harris County District Court against Bellaire Roofing Company Inc., alleging negligence, violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, breach of contract and breach of warranty.

Ballas hired Bellaire Roofing in 2018 to replace the roof on his Harris County home. He alleges Bellaire improperly installed the roof with their work failing to meet the criteria it had promised such as appearance, installation and quality. Ballas claims that due to the poor quality roofing job, his home suffered damage from water intrusion and that Bellaire had admitted that it improperly installed the roofing system.

Ballas seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Kimberly Altsuler and Brandon Rutledge of Peckar & Abramson PC in Houston.
