HOUSTON — A woman is claiming the negligence of Sprouts Farmers Market after she allegedly suffered injury from a shopping cart rack.

Salwa Kassis filed a complaint March 2 in the Harris County District Court against Sprouts Farmers Market Texas LP and Sprouts Farmers Market Holdings LLC alleging negligence.

Kassis was entering the Sprouts Farmers Market store in Houston on Feb. 28, 2018. She alleges that when she went to grab a shopping cart from the rack system, she fell and broke her wrist due to the rack not being securely bolted down. Kassis claims Sprouts failed to prevent or warn of the dangerous condition that caused her serious bodily injury.

Kassis seeks monetary relief between $200,000 and $1 million, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Kanan Henry and Carver Henry of Henry McDonald & James PC in Houston.
