HOUSTON — A woman who was raped at her apartment complex in Houston is claiming negligence on the part of the property's owner and management for failing to provide security.

Pamelia Adams filed a complaint March 3 in the Harris County District Court against Villas on Winkler and The Lynd Company, alleging negligence and premises liability.

Adams was returning home to her apartment at the Villas on Winkler in Houston on June 19, 2019. She alleges that an unknown attacker "brutally raped" her when she arrived at her apartment. She claims her attacker was able to gain access to her apartment due to lack of securing the premises.

Adams seeks monetary relief in excess of $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Robert Morse of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
