Woman claims Central Market's negligence after suffering knee, back injuries in fall

HOUSTON — A woman who slipped and fell at a Central Market in Houston and suffered knee and back injuries is claiming the grocer's negligence.

Leah Harrington filed a complaint March 9 in the Harris County District Court against H.E.B. LP also known as Central Market alleging negligence.

Harrington was at the Central Market in Houston on April 18, 2018. She alleges that while walking near the produce department, she slipped and fell on water that was on the floor. She claims a store employee witnessed her fall and that she suffered injury to her knees and back that required surgery and physical therapy treatments.

Harrington seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by attorney Daniel Fay in Houston.
