HOUSTON — A former Home Depot worker is claiming he suffered injuries after being required to lift heavy items without assistance.

David Smothers filed a complaint March 15 in the Harris County District Court against Home Depot U.S.A., Inc., alleging negligence.

Smothers, who was 59 years old at the time, was working for Home Depot. He alleges that on March 21, 2019, he suffered serious injuries due to being required to repeatedly lift heavy items by himself. He claims he had medical treatment for his injuries and then was put back to work where he aggravated his previous injuries and was unable to continue his work with Home Depot.

Smothers seeks monetary relief, trial by jury, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Jeffrey Todd of The Todd Law Group PLLC in Houston.
